The recruitment has been announced for 11 vacancies across the Karnataka Circle.  

India Post Staff Car Driver Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must satisfy the eligibility conditions prescribed in the notification.

Educational Qualification

Applicants must have:

• Passed 10th Standard from a recognized Board or Institution.
• Valid Driving Licence for both Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) and Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV).
• Knowledge of motor mechanism and ability to remove minor defects in vehicles.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in driving Light and Heavy Motor Vehicles.

Desirable Qualification:

Three years of service as Home Guard or Civil Volunteer.

Service Eligibility

The recruitment is open to:

• Regular Dispatch Riders and MTS employees of the Department of Posts in Pay Level-1 possessing the required driving qualifications.
• Regular Group-C employees of other Central Government Ministries fulfilling the prescribed eligibility.
• Armed Forces personnel due to retire or transferred to reserve within one year may also apply under deputation/re-employment provisions.
