What After India Post GDS Merit List 2026?

After the release of the India Post GDS Merit List 2026, candidates whose names appear in the list will have to participate in the Document Verification (DV) process conducted by the India Post. This is the next important stage in the recruitment process.

Shortlisted candidates must visit the division office mentioned in the merit list with their original documents for verification. During this stage, officials will check whether the details provided in the application form are correct.

Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two or more candidates secure equal marks in the merit list, the following criteria are applied:

• Preference is given to the candidate with a higher age
• If the tie still persists, category reservation rules are applied as per the Government of India norms in Males and Females separately: ST → SC → OBC → EWS → UR

Yes, the India Post may release multiple merit lists (supplementary lists) for the GDS Recruitment 2026 if vacancies remain unfilled after the first list. This usually happens in the following situations:
