SSC CGL Selection Process
The Selection Process consists of two examination stages: Tier 1 and Tier 2. There is no Interview in the process.
Stage 1: Tier 1 Examination
- Tier 1 will be conducted in Computer-Based Mode (CBT).
- This stage is qualifying in nature and used for shortlisting candidates for Tier 2.
- The exam may be conducted in multiple shifts, and SSC will apply score normalization.
Stage 2: Tier 2 Examination
- Candidates shortlisted in Tier 1 will appear for the Tier 2 Exam.
- Tier 2 is the main merit-deciding stage of the selection process.
- Post-specific papers (where applicable)
Stage 3: Answer Key & Objection Process
- SSC will release the Tentative Answer Key after the examination.
- Candidates can raise objections online by paying ₹100 per question.
- After reviewing objections, SSC will publish the Final Answer Key.
Stage 4: Document Verification (DV)
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for Document Verification.
- SSC will verify educational certificates, category certificates, ID proof, and other required documents.
Final Selection
- Final selection will be based on Tier 2 marks and successful document verification.
- No re-evaluation or re-checking of marks will be allowed after result declaration.

How to Apply for SSC CGL Exam?
Step 1: Visit the SSC portal and complete the One-Time Registration (OTR). Candidates registered on the old SSC website must create a new OTR on the new portal.
Step 2: Log in using your registration details and fill out the SSC CGL 2026 application form carefully.
Step 3: Candidates are advised to choose Aadhaar-Based Authentication during registration for smoother verification.
Step 4: Capture a live photograph through the application module in a well-lit area with a plain background. Do not wear cap, mask, or spectacles.
Step 5: Upload a clear scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format (10 KB to 20 KB).
Step 6: PwBD/PwD candidates applying for a reservation or scribe facility must upload the required disability certificate.
Step 7: Verify all details carefully using the Preview option before final submission.
Step 8: Submit the application form before the last date, i.e., 22nd June 2026 (11 PM), and keep a printout of the form for future reference.
SSC CGL Exam Application Fee
The application fee for SSC CGL 2026 is Rs. 100/- for General and OBC candidates.
Women candidates, SC, ST, PwBD, and eligible Ex-Servicemen are exempted from fee payment.
The fee can be paid online through UPI, Net Banking, or Debit Cards till 23rd June 2026 (11:00 PM).
