Mandatory Order of Studies Filter for Technical Posts

TNPSC follows a very strict rule regarding how you completed your education. If your degree structure does not match this sequence, your application will face rejection during document verification:

• The Approved Pattern: Candidates must have completed their education in the exact order of: SSLC (Class 10th) → HSC (Class 12th) or Diploma → UG Degree → PG Degree.
• Open University Warning: If you obtained a technical degree directly through an open university track without passing school levels sequentially, you are not eligible to apply.

Candidates claiming equivalence of qualification must upload a copy of the relevant Government Order (GO) at the time of document upload or before Physical Certificate Verification.

TNPSC CTS Exam Pattern 2026

The Exam Pattern mainly includes a written examination, and the exam pattern depends on the post applied for:

Paper I (Common for all candidates except Translator posts)

• Exam mode- Offline mode
• Type- MCQ

For Translator Post

The pattern is slightly different:

• Minimum qualifying marks for Paper A: 60 Marks
• Minimum qualifying marks for Paper B, Paper C, and Part II: 75 Marks for reserved category candidates and 100 Marks for other candidates.

The examination fee is Rs. 100/-. Candidates opting for additional subject papers must pay an extra Rs. 100/- for each additional paper selected.
