Agniveers to Get 50% Reservation in SSC GD, CAPF, and Assam Rifles Recruitments

As per a statement released by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Ex-Agniveers to Get 50% Reservation in the recruitment of Constable (General Duty) posts in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Rifleman posts in Assam Rifles. Agniveers to Get 50% Reservation in SSC GD, CAPF, and Assam Rifles Recruitments

The Ministry of Home Affairs has created a separate category of Ex-Agniveers in the recruitment process for Constable (GD) in CAPFs and Rifleman in Assam Rifles. Under the new policy, half of all vacancies in these recruitments will be reserved for eligible Ex-Agniveers. 

This move is expected to help trained and disciplined personnel transition into central armed police forces after completing their engagement under the Agnipath Scheme.

50% Reservation in SSC GD Recruitment

Since recruitment to Constable (GD) posts in CAPFs and Assam Rifles is conducted through the SSC GD Constable Examination, the newly announced reservation will apply to eligible Ex-Agniveers participating in this recruitment process.

50 percent of the vacancies will be reserved for ex Agniveers seeking careers in central armed police organizations after completing their four-year tenure.

Age Relaxation for Ex-Agniveers

Apart from reservation, the Government has also relaxed the upper age limit for Ex-Agniveers.

  • All Ex-Agniveers will receive 3 years of age relaxation.
  • Candidates belonging to the first batch of Ex-Agniveers will receive 5 years of age relaxation beyond the prescribed upper age limit.

Exemption from PET, PST and Written Examination

One of the most significant features of the policy is the exemption provided during recruitment. Eligible Ex-Agniveers will not be required to appear for:

  • Physical Standards Test (PST)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Written Examination

Dedicated Ex-Agniveer Wing Established

The Ministry of Home Affairs has also established a dedicated Ex-Agniveer Wing to coordinate the future progression and rehabilitation of Ex-Agniveers. The new wing will oversee policies related to their recruitment and career opportunities in various organizations under the Ministry.
