CLAT 2023 will be administered by the Consortium of National Law Universities. Candidates must apply for the CLAT exam in order to be considered for admission to any of the participating universities classified as NLUs.

Candidates will be admitted to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes at the 22 participating NLUs. The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) announced the CLAT Admit Card 2023 on December 6, 2022. The CLAT 2023 will take place on December 18, 2022.

CLAT 2023 Exam Day Instructions About Reporting Time

  1. Candidates may enter the CLAT test center beginning at 1 p.m. They must be seated in their assigned seats by 1:30 p.m.
  2. Candidates who arrive after 2:15 p.m. will not be permitted to take the CLAT 2023.
  3. After entering the CLAT exam hall, candidates are not authorized to leave before 4 p.m.
  4. Candidates who arrive after 2:45 p.m. will not be given additional time to complete the question paper.
  5. Candidates should notify their Invigilators of any medical difficulties before beginning the test.

CLAT 2023 Exam Day Instructions About Exam Bell Timings

1:50 pm Short Bell The invigilators distribute the sealed envelopes and announce the instructions.
2:00 pm Long Bell Commencement of the test.
2:15 pm Short Bell After this time, no candidate will be permitted to enter the testing centre.
3:00 pm Short Bell The exam has been completed after 60 (sixty) minutes.
3:50 pm Short Bell A warning bell will sound to signify that the test will end in 10 (ten) minutes.
4:00 pm Long Bell The test has been completed. No applicant will be allowed to write anything on the omr response sheet/ question booklet after this bell

CLAT 2023 Exam Day Instructions: Marking Scheme

CLAT 2023 question paper will have 150 questions. Every correct answer earns one point. While each incorrect response results in a 0.25 point deduction. Unanswered questions will not be deducted.

Important Things to Bring on Exam Day Candidates taking the CLAT 2023 exam should bring the following materials with them to the testing facility.

CLAT Exam Day Instructions

The CLAT 2023 exam guidelines will be given on the admit card. Candidates should carefully read all instructions before entering the exam centre. They must follow the testing facility’s rules and regulations while taking the exam.

  1. At the CLAT examination center, candidates must bring their CLAT 2023 admit card as well as a valid ID.
  2. A recent passport photo must also be brought to the exam center.
  3. Candidates should be at the examination centre at least one hour before the exam.
  4. Candidates will not be permitted to enter the examination venue after 15 minutes of the examination’s start time.
  5. CLAT admit cards must be signed in front of an invigilator by candidates.
  6. Candidates will be permitted to leave the examination hall only after the exam has concluded.
  7. Candidates should not engage in anything that is expressly prohibited by the Consortium of NLUs.
    As a precaution against Covid-19, candidates should keep an appropriate social distance.
  8. Candidates are not permitted to bring mobile phones, calculators, watches, stationery items, wallets, or goggles inside the exam center.
