1. Tier 1  Online Objective Examination

IB MTS Qualifying Marks 2026

To qualify the Tier 1 exam, candidates must score a minimum marks out of total 100 as given below:

  • UR: 30
  • OBC: 28
  • SC/ST: 25
  • EWS: 30

Whereas Tier-II is only qualifying in nature. Candidates need to score 20 out of 50 marks to qualify.

Based on the marks scored and normalisation, candidates who clear the Tier-I cut-off will be shortlisted for Tier-II, at about 10 times the number of vacancies.

Resolution of Tie Cases

In case of a tier, which means if two or more candidates get the same marks in Tier-I during final selection, the tie will be resolved as per the rules:

  1. Older candidates will be given preference.
  2. If the tie remains, candidates will be ranked in alphabetical order of their first names.
