Dharmashastra National Law University Jabalpur Admission Process

The DNLU Jabalpur is one of the 26 National Law Universities in India, hence, there is a huge competition for admission into any of the program offered at the college. In order to choose students for undergraduate and postgraduate courses, many entrance criteria are taken into account. Students are chosen for UG and PG programs based on their CLAT score. For admission to the PhD program, candidates who meet the requirements must show up for an admission exam held by DNLU Jabalpur.

Candidates are admitted on the basis of CLAT UG score into the integrated 5-year BA LLB (Hons) program. Admission to the LLM program (1 year) also take place through the CLAT PG exam’s score. The PhD program is offered through the DNLU National Level Entrance Test – DNLET.

DNLU Admission 2024

The DNLU Jabalpur admission 2024 is currently ongoing through the CLAT 2024 counselling process. The third admission list has been released for the DNLU admission 2024 in LLB and LLM programs. Candidates whose admit card number appears in the CNLU 3rd counselling list will be able to take admission into the DNLU programs. Candidates who took the DNLET and scored 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL) in it will be called for the interview round. The admission process for different courses is given hereunder.

For BA LLB (Hons) Program

Candidates willing to apply for the BA LLB (Hons), a five year integrated law program, will have to take the CLAT exam to take part in the admission process. After clearing the required CLAT cut off, candidates will be able to take part in the further admission process. In other words, admission to the undergraduate law program at DNLU Jabalpur will take place through the CLAT UG test.

For LLM Program

Candidates willing to apply for the LLM course will have to clear the required cut-off in the CLAT PG program. Students whose admit card number will appear in the admission merit list of the DNLU Jabalpur will be able to take part in the admission process.

For PhD Course

Admission to the PhD course at DNLU Jabalpur will take place on the basis of the entrance exam conducted by DNLU Jabalpur. The DNLU Jabalpur conducts the national-level entrance test known as DNLET. Admission to the PhD program at DNLU Jabalpur will take place in two stages.

Stage I: Entrance Test (100 Marks)

Candidates have to appear for an All-India Ph.D. Entrance Test known as DNLET. The entrance test shall comprise of 2 components: Component 01 – Research Methodology – 35 Marks (35 Questions) and Component 02 (Subject Specific)– 35 Marks (35 Questions). The candidate needs to score a minimum of 50 % of marks in each component to qualify in the Ph.D. Entrance Test (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC-NCL). A candidate who is only a UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) qualified in the relevant subject shall not be exempted from the DNLET. A UGC-JRF candidate shall directly appear for the interview.

Stage II: Personal Interview

Shortlisted candidates including UGC NET (Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)/ lectureship) or SLET qualified candidates will be required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation followed by an Interview before the Committee.

DNLU Jabalpur Seats
