NICL Assistant 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (1/7/2026)
Candidates aged between 21 and 30 years are eligible to apply for the NICL Assistant Notification Form Online. Applicants must have been born between 2nd July 1996 and 1st July 2005 (inclusive). Age relaxation for reserved categories is as follows:

NICL Assistant 2026 Selection Process
The selection process involves multiple stages, with the final merit determined by candidates’ performance in the Online Main Examination and Regional Language Test.
- Prelims Exam: Objective-type test. Candidates who qualify are shortlisted for the Mains Exam.
- Main Exam: Marks obtained in this stage are considered for final selection.
- Regional Language Test: Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the regional language of the State/UT they have applied for. This test is qualifying in nature.

NICL Assistant Regional Language Test (RLT)
The Regional Language Test (RLT) for NICL Assistant is conducted for candidates who qualify the Online Mains Exam to test proficiency in the regional language of the State/UT for which they have applied.
The Language Test is qualifying in nature and is mandatory, and no marks are awarded for it. The final merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Online Mains Examination, subject to qualifying the Regional Language Test. Check the table for state-wise language requirements.

Candidates selected as Assistants in NICL receive an attractive salary along with several allowances and benefits as per company rules.

NICL Assistant Probation Period
Candidates selected as NICL Assistants will be placed on a probation period of at least 6 months from the date of joining. During this period, NICL officials will assess the employee’s performance, conduct, and suitability for the role. If the performance does not meet the company’s expectations, the probation period may be extended.
Note: Candidates who resign during the probation period or whose services are terminated by NICL will be required to refund the entire salary received during their service, along with Rs. 25,000 towards the partial cost of training.
