MPHC Stenographer Eligibility 2026

Candidates must fulfil the educational and technical qualifications prescribed for the respective stenographer post.

Stenographer Grade-II Qualification

Candidates applying for Stenographer Grade-II must have:

  • Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university.
  • Passed the C.P.C.T. examination and possess the required score card issued by MAP-IT or another agency/institution recognised by the Madhya Pradesh Government.
  • Passed the Hindi shorthand examination with a speed of 100 words per minute from a board/institution recognised by the Madhya Pradesh Government.
  • Passed a one-year Diploma Course in Computer Application from an institution recognised by the Madhya Pradesh Government.

Stenographer Grade-III Qualification

For Stenographer Grade-III and Stenographer Grade-III (Court Manager Staff), candidates must have:

  • Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university.
  • Passed the C.P.C.T. examination and possess the required score card.
  • Passed the Hindi shorthand examination with a speed of 80 words per minute from a recognised board/institution.
  • Passed a one-year Diploma Course in Computer Application from an institution recognised by the Madhya Pradesh Government.

MP High Court Stenographer Skill Test 2026

Candidates shortlisted after the preliminary examination will be called for the Hindi Stenography Skill Test.
For the stenographer posts, the skill examination carries 100 marks. Candidates will receive approximately 400 words of Hindi dictation in around five minutes, followed by 30 minutes for transcription/typing.
The transcription will be conducted on a computer. The notification specifies the use of Remington Gail typing for Hindi transcription.

MP High Court Stenographer Skill Test Marking

The skill test will be evaluated according to the prescribed error-marking rules. Errors may include incorrect words, spelling mistakes, omitted words, punctuation errors and other specified errors.
The notification provides for a deduction of 0.50 marks for each error. If more than 120 errors are found in the answer sheet, it will not be evaluated further and zero marks will be awarded.
