RRB ALP Exam Date 2026 Out Soon
As of now, the Exam Date for CBT 1 has not been officially announced by RRB yet. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official RRB websites for the latest updates regarding the CBT 1 schedule. However, it is expected that the exam will be held in 2nd half of 2026, and the admit card will be released approximately four days before the exam date.

RRB ALP Eligibility
Candidates who fulfil the following eligibility conditions can register for RRB ALP 2026:
Railway ALP Age Limit
The minimum age is 18 years, and the maximum age is 30 years as on 1st July 2026. Age relaxation is provided as per government norms:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (NCL): 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Service period + 3 years
RRB ALP Qualification
Must have one of the following:
- 10th Pass from a recognised board with ITI certificate in a relevant trade (e.g., Electrician, Fitter, Mechanic, Welder, etc.)
- OR a 3-year Diploma/Degree in Engineering

There are 5 stages in the Assistant Loco Pilot Selection Process:

RRB ALP New Exam Pattern
RRB has revised the CBT 1 exam pattern by removing the General Awareness section. The examination will now consist of three subjects only: Mathematics, Mental Ability, and General Science. Despite this change, the total number of questions, maximum marks, and exam duration remain unchanged.

RRB ALP CBAT
CBAT is a psychological aptitude test designed to assess a candidate’s mental alertness, decision-making ability, concentration, and reaction time
- Conducted only in English and Hindi
- No negative marking
- Candidates must clear each test battery separately
- Must score a minimum T-Score of 42 in each test battery
- Failing in even one battery leads to disqualification
Railway RRB ALP Salary & Pay Scale
Assistant Loco Pilots (ALPs) are appointed under Pay Level 2 of the 7th CPC and receive a starting basic salary of Rs. 19,900 per month.
Along with the basic pay, they are eligible for various allowances and perks, which can raise the monthly salary to around Rs. 25,000–35,000, depending on the posting location and deductions.
In addition, ALPs enjoy several benefits such as free or concessional railway travel passes, medical facilities, retirement benefits, and other allowances provided under Railway regulations.
RRB ALP Exam Centre List
RRB will conduct the ALP CBT exams across various cities in India. Before each exam stage, candidates will be issued a City Intimation Slip containing details of their allotted exam city and centre.
