What is the Eligibility Criteria 2026?

Candidates applying for the Library Assistant (Junior Judicial Assistant) post must satisfy the prescribed educational qualification and age requirements. Only those meeting the eligibility conditions as on the specified date will be considered for recruitment.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science from a recognized University or Institution.

Age Limit (As on 01 January 2026)

  • Minimum Age: 21 Years
  • Maximum Age: 30 Years (For candidates outside Chhattisgarh)
  • Maximum Age: 40 Years (For Chhattisgarh domiciles)

Age Relaxation

  • Up to 5 years for local SC/ST/OBC candidates.
  • Up to 10 years for women candidates who are residents of Chhattisgarh.
  • The maximum age, including all relaxations, shall not exceed 45 years.

What are the Selection Process?

The selection process consists of two stages designed to assess candidates’ theoretical knowledge and practical library management skills.

Phase I: Written Examination

The written test will be conducted in an objective (MCQ) format for a total of 50 marks. There is no negative marking in the examination.

Phase-II: Library Skill Test

The Skill Test will carry 50 marks and evaluate candidates’ practical knowledge related to library operations, cataloguing, accession registers, book processing, reference services, and library management software.
