NIRF Ranking 2024 Engineering Colleges
The NIRF Ranking for the Engineering colleges will be released by the Ministry of Education on June 5, 2024 (tentative). The NIRF Engineering ranking 2024 will contain the list of top Engineering institutions in India along with their NIRF rank and score. The NIRF ranking will also have the Institute ID, and the city and state where the Engineering college is located. Just like the previous year, it is certain that the list of top 100 Engineering colleges will be published by the Education Ministry.
The NIRF Ranking 2024 for Engineering colleges is likely to be dominated by the government engineering institutes, particularly the IITs and NITs. In the NIRF ranking 2024, the top 10 Engineering colleges belong to the government sector, with the top 8 spot bagged by the IITs (Indian Institute of Technologies). The latest list of the top 100 Engineering colleges for the year 2024 will be soon released by Ministry of Education. For now, the list of the top 100 Engineering colleges on the basis of the previous ranking is given below. IIT Madras topped the list of the top 100 Engineering colleges last year in the NIRF ranking followed by IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay. NIRF Ranking 2024 Medical Colleges
Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister of State for Education and External Affairs, today published a list of top medical colleges across the country based on the government’s National Institute of list Framework (NIRF).
According to the NIRF rankings 2024, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Delhi remains the country’s top medical college with a stunning score of 94.32; AIMS was also named the number one institute the previous year with a score of 91.6.

NIRF Ranking 2024 Parameters
The Ministry of Education uses a comprehensive mechanism to rank each of the participating institutions. The NIRF ranking is based on the evaluation of a higher educational institute on five different parameters. They are further divided into different sub-parameters. The details of the five parameters on which the NIRF 2024 ranking is based is given below.
1) Teaching, Learning & Resources
This parameter takes into account various factors that are summarized below.
- Student Strength including Doctoral Students (SS)
- Faculty-student ratio with emphasis on permanent faculty (FSR)
- Combined metric for Faculty with PhD (or equivalent) and Experience (FQE)
- Financial Resources and their Utilisation (FRU)
2) Research and Professional Practice
One of the key parameters of the NIRF ranking is the research part. The ranking gives a significant weightage to the research and professional practice to develop high-level research caliber in the higher education institutions. This parameter focuses on the following metrics.
- Combined metric for Publications (PU)
- Combined metric for Quality of Publications (QP)
- IPR and Patents: Published and Granted (IPR)
- Footprint of Projects and Professional Practice (FPPP)
3) Graduation Outcome
Graduation outcome is another important parameter as it defines the return on investment. The key considerations for this parameter is given below.
- Metric for University Examinations (GUE)
- Metric for Number of Ph.D. Students Graduated (GPHD)
4) Outreach and Inclusivity
The outreach and inclusivity parameter takes into account the following key components.
- Percentage of Students from Other States/Countries (Region Diversity RD)
- Percentage of Women (Women Diversity WD)
- Economically and Socially Challenged Students (ESCS)
- Facilities for Physically Challenged Students (PCS)
- Perception (PR) Ranking
5) Peer Perception
Peer Perception is another key parameter on which the Ministry of Education assess the institutes for the NIRF ranking. This is done by taking samples from the Academic Peers and Employers (PR). This is done through a survey conducted over a large category of Employers, Professionals from Reputed Organizations and a large category of academics to ascertain their preference for graduates of different institutions.
