Security Deposit in NEET UG Counseling 2025

The NEET UG Counselling 2025 is a crucial STAGE for prospective medical students who qualified for the NEET exam and intend to apply for the AIQ 15% of Medical seats in India. As per the rules of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), candidates must pay a security deposit to confirm their participation in the seat distribution procedure. During NEET UG Counselling, the Medical Counselling Committee charges candidates a security deposit which varies depending on the category of the students as follows

Is NEET Counselling security fee always refundable?

There are two types of payments that students need to pay during the counseling process. One is the application fee, which is non-refundable, and the other is the seat acceptance security fee. The Security fee for the NEET UG 2025 counseling is both refundable and non-refundable, depending on the scenario, as follows

You will receive a refund if: You will not receive a refund if:
  • If a candidate is not offered a seat in any round of counselling.
  • If a contender withdraws from the assigned seat within the specified timeframe.
  • If the institute cancels the seat for any reason.
  • If a candidate is promoted to a higher position.
  • If a candidate was assigned a seat but failed to report to the institution.
  • If a candidate participated in Round 2 and wishes to withdraw.
  • If an applicant did not finish the resignation process after enrolling and leaving a college.

NEET UG 2025 Refund Policies for Counselling Fees

Understanding the MCC’s security deposit return policies is critical to a stress-free NEET UG Counselling 2025 experience. If your candidate does not receive a seat in any round of counselling or withdraws from the given seat within the timeframe specified, or if the institute cancels the seat for whatever reason, you will be refunded the security deposit you paid to accept the seat.
