JEE Main 2022: Chemistry
JEE Main is a national-level examination for admission in top engineering colleges such as NITs, IIITs, and other private universities. The questions in JEE Main examination are asked from three subjects: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Mathematics and physics require numerical practice while chemistry requires multiple revisions and understanding of concepts. The Chemistry section includes objective questions from Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Inorganic Chemistry. Purification and Characterization of Organic Compounds, Chemical Thermodynamics, Chemical Bonding, Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties, Hydrogen, Organic Compounds containing Halogens and Molecular Structure, and other essential topics are covered. We will discuss the marking distribution, weightage, and important topics of chemistry in this article. IIT JEE Main 2022 – Marking Scheme of Chemistry
JEE Main is considered to be the toughest entrance examination in India. Some students find chemistry tough and some find it easy. In JEE Main, there will be 30 questions asked from chemistry itself. Out of 30 questions, 20 questions are multiple-choice questions and 10 questions are numerical value-based. In which, the students have to answer 25 questions. Students will get +4 marks for each right answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. There will be no negative marking for questions based on numerical values. It is greatly recommended that candidates do not fill out more than one option on the OMR form. If they do, the question will be marked incorrectly, and you will receive a negative marking. If the students did not attempt questions there zero marks will be awarded. Check the table below:
Subject | Total Marks | Number of Questions | Marking Scheme |
Chemistry | 100 | 75 | +4 marks will be awarded for the correct answers
-1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response |
