The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) administers the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), a prestigious national-level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs in India. The CLAT 2026 examination date is December 7, 2025, from 02:00 to 04:00 P.M. at the designated exam centers throughout India
CLAT UG is estimated to have over 60,000 candidates, whereas CLAT PG will have roughly 11,000. The CLAT 2026 Application Process begins August 1, 2025. Interested candidates can access the CLAT Application Form by going to the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate Courses
- Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have completed 10+2 or an equivalent exam from a certified board. Applicants in the general category must have at least 45% in the qualifying test, while SC/ST applicants must have 40%.
- Age Limit: There is no set age limit for candidates taking the UG CLAT, but they must have finished their 10+2 or equivalent by the time of admission.
- Appearing Candidates: Candidates who are taking the final 10+2 examination in the same year can also apply, as long as they meet the qualifying requirements before the admission process begins.
CLAT Eligibility Criteria for POST-GRADUATE PROGRAMME
- Educational Qualification: An LL.B. Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of:
(i) Fifty percent (50%) of marks or its equivalent grade or
(ii) Forty five percent (45%) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories. - Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May, 2026, are also eligible to apply.
