CBSE Term 1 Board Exams 2021-22: Important Tips and Tricks For Students

CBSE Term 1 Board Exams 2021-22: Important Tips and Tricks For Students: Competency-based multiple-choice questions do not test memorization power but rather measure students’ abilities to apply, analyse, and synthesise information.
However, students are rather confused because the question paper will be focused on multiple-choice questions, they would not need to study very hard. Also, aspirants should also understand that since the paper consists of multiple-choice questions, students must understand that they will no longer be able to bluff and will have to be direct and reasonable with their answers.
Graph, a picture, or a news clip may be included in the question paper and students will be tested on such a basis. Since the MCQ structure is new to class 10 students, they should remember these key principles before taking the CBSE board term 1 exam.

15 Tips and Tricks to score full marks in CBSE Term 1 Board Exams 2021-22

  • Make short notes of the chapters you study along. These short notes will be helpful to you, once you start revising a day prior to the exams. You won’t have to read the complete chapter once again but instead revise the notes which will help you to recall the concepts.
  • Stick to NCERT books. As it is a board exam and the complete syllabus are based on NCERT, it is beneficial for students to stick to NCERT rather than studying from other standard books. Standard books can be referred to for competitive exams at a later stage.
  • Refrain from starting new chapters/topics a day prior to the exams. This will lead to confusion and you might forget major topics which can help you to score marks. Even if you are unable to complete the entire syllabus for term 1, revise the ones which you have completed already for the exams and try to score full marks from those topics.
  • Practise NCERT Sample papers every day. Sample papers for all subjects are available on the official website of CBSE. You can download and practise the papers.
  • Photocopy a blank OMR Sheet that is easily available on the Internet. Try marking answers on the OMR sheet by bubbling out options corresponding to questions. This will make you familiar with the pattern of an OMR sheet. This will also reduce the probability of you getting freaked out by looking at the OMR sheet on the examination day.
  • Stick to a fixed timetable and give equal importance to all subjects. Each subject is important and will help you to score.
  • Students should make the most of their reading time. Devoting the reading time by carefully reading each question and identifying the ones they are confident about will be really helpful to each of the aspirants. Doing questions in such a way where they make much of the reading time, they can also return to the difficult questions once they’ve completed all of the easy ones.
  • Students should study the directions attentively and in each part, a certain number of questions must be answered, and students should double-check whether they have answered the required number of questions in the exam.
  • Students should check for double negatives in the question. The students should pay more attention to how the questions are phrased. Understanding questions and what they are implying to ask you is also very important; for example, if the question is not read correctly, what appears to be a logical answer may be erroneous.
  • Out of the four responses, there will be one correct response and three incorrect responses. Although the responses may appear to be extremely similar, only one is the most appropriate. Using the elimination procedure, you can find the correct option.
  • Students should not look at the solutions while reading the question, but rather try to analyse and answer before glancing at the options. This would assist people to avoid being distracted by poor decisions.
  • No question should be left unanswered because there is no negative marking. This means that even if some of the questions are pure guesswork and the students are doubtful of the answers, the number of questions required to be answered per section should be replied to.
  • Students should not waste too much time on a question because they only have 90 minutes to complete 50 questions. Time management plays a very important role here.
Students should practise sample question papers on CBSE-provided model OMR sheets to get a better understanding of the exam pattern and time management.
  • There is no replacement for putting in the effort and a lot depends upon how much did the students pay attention in class. The more they were attentive during the class, the more they will be able to confidently answer the questions.
  • Take proper care of your health as without being fit mentally and physically, no matter how much you study, you are bound to underperform on the examination day. So, take care of your health by following proper diet.
