While giving an Interview senior officials at the Ministry of Education discussed the implementation of conducting the CBSE Board Exam 2024-25 twice a year.. According to a senior official at the Ministry of Education, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) plans to offer multiple board exams starting in 2025, with the exception of a split exam in 2021 owing to Covid-19. Students in classes X and XII starting in 2024-25 will be the first to take multiple board exams.

The official stated that the new system of twice-yearly board exams for Class X and XII will not be mandatory. The new system attempts to reduce tension among students who are concerned about missing out on opportunities. If a candidate achieves a satisfactory score in one set of tests, they can opt out of the subsequent exams.

According to MoE sources, the first CBSE Board Exam 2024-25 is expected to be delivered in November-December 2024, followed by the second in February-March 2025. The best of two scores will be used to determine the final results and merit.

In an interview in October last year, education minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that the cbse board exams 2024-25: twice a year board format to be implemented. He also stated that the new textbooks for classes III through VI, as well as classes IX and XI, will be available for the 2024-25 academic year, with the remainder coming in 2025-26.

  • If a student believes he is fully prepared and content with his result on the first set of tests, he may choose not to take the next set of exams. Nothing will be mandatory.
  • Students will have the option of taking the (Class 10 and 12 board) exams twice a year, similar to the engineering entrance test JEE. They can choose the best score… but it will be entirely a choice, with no commitment.
  • Students frequently become anxious because they believe they have lost a year, that their chance has passed, or that they could have performed better… an option is being introduced to alleviate the tension generated by the dread of missing out on one opportunity.

CBSE New Education Policy 2024-25: New Text Books will be Introduced

Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education, has also informed about the introduction of new textbooks for the Upcoming CBSE Board Exams 2024-25. that the twice-yearly board format will begin in the 2024-25 academic year.

As per the Union Minister, New textbooks for grades III through VI, as well as grades IX and XI, will be available in 2024. This means that all of the books will be available for the preparatory classes as well as the middle school’s entry-level (class VI). Similarly, textbooks for entry-level secondary (class IX) and senior secondary (class XI) will be available for the 2024-25 academic year.

As a result, books for six classes will be ready next year. The remaining books (classes VII, VIII, X, and XII) will be ready by 2025. The new school education strategy will be implemented beginning in 2024-25 and ending in 2025-26 to ensure continuity.
