Bank of India Promotion Exam 2025 Apply Online
The clerical staff who want to be promoted to General Banking Officers (GBO) can apply online. They need to submit the application through HRMS, Self Service Module. The application process has started from 6 September 2025 and will end on 10 September 2025. The applications will be approved by the controlling authority of each pay group between 6 September 2025 to 11 September 2025.
Bank of India Promotion Exam 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The cut-off date for eligibility in terms of service will be 30 September 2025 and the cut-off date for eligibility in terms of educational qualification will be 10 September 2025. Below we have mention the eligibility criteria in detail:
a). Graduate of a recognized University, provided the applicant has completed at least THREE YEARS of service in Clerical Cadre in the Bank;
OR
b). A holder of Degree of MBA / MCA / MMS/PGDM of Government recognised University / deemed University, provided the applicant has completed at least TWO YEARS service in Clerical Cadre in the Bank.
OR
c). A holder of professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant /Company Secretary / ICWA / CFA Degree of Government recognised Institutes, provided the applicant has completed at least ONE YEAR service in Clerical Cadre in the Bank.
OR
d). Clerks not eligible to apply under (a), (b), (c) above may also apply, provided they have at least passed S.S.C. / Matriculation / 12th Std. Passed (10+2+3 pattern) or other equivalent examination of Government recognised Boards and have completed at least EIGHT YEARS service in Clerical Cadre in the Bank;
OR
e). Clerks not eligible to apply under (a), (b), (c), (d) above may also apply, provided they have completed at least TEN YEARS service in Clerical Cadre in the Bank.
Bank of India Promotion Exam 2025 Selection Process
The selection process for promotion will be based on 100 marks. These marks are divided into three parts:
Service (20 Marks)
- Every completed year of service will give 1 mark.
- A maximum of 20 marks can be given based on service completed by 30.09.2025.
- If a staff member worked earlier in Bank of Karad Ltd., Parur Central Bank Ltd., or Industrial Investment Bank of India (IIBI), then 1.5 years of service in those banks will be counted as 1 year in Bank of India.
Educational Qualifications (15 Marks)
Educational qualifications will give up to 15 marks as follows:

Written Test / Online Test (65 Marks)
- All candidates must take the written or online test.
- The test will last 130 minutes (2 hours and 10 minutes).
- It will have 130 multiple choice questions worth a total of 65 marks.
- Questions will cover topics like Banking, Banking Law, and Practice.
- There will not be negative marking for wrong answers.
- A candidate must score at least 22 marks out of 65 to qualify.
- For SC/ST/PWD candidates, the minimum qualifying marks will be 18.75.
