    SSC JHT 2026 Online Application

Visit the official SSC website at www.ssc.gov.in and navigate to the "Apply" section to apply for SSC JHT 2026. First, you need to do the One Time Registration and then proceed to form fill up which includes multiple stages. At the end of the process, pay the application fee, which is Rs. 100 for General/OBC candidates; women and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from payment of the fee.

How to Apply the SSC JHT 2026 Application Form?

The online application process involves multiple stages, and they are discussed in sequence below:

Step 1: New One-Time Registration (OTR) Needed:

If you haven’t registered on the new SSC website, you need to complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process. Old OTRs from the previous SSC website (ssc.nic.in) will not work. Once you create your new OTR, it will be valid for all future SSC exams on this new website.

Step 2: Live Photo Capture Feature:

You don’t need to upload a photo from your device. The application form will ask you to click your photo live using your computer or mobile camera.

    Follow these tips:

    • Use good lighting and a plain background.
    • Keep the camera at eye level.
    • Face the camera directly and look straight.
    • Make sure your full face fits inside the red box shown on screen.
    • Do not wear caps, masks, or glasses while clicking the photo.

Important Photo Rules: Your appearance in the exam should match the photo on your form. If the photo is unclear, shows you wearing glasses, or is of an old printed photo, your application will be rejected. Make sure your photo follows the instructions. Improper photos will lead to rejection.

Step 3: Signature Upload: Upload your signature in JPG or JPEG format, size 10–20 KB, with dimensions around 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height). Blurry or incorrect signatures will also lead to rejection.

Step 4: Final Checks: Before clicking “Submit,” preview the form and double-check all details, especially your photo and signature. Keep a printed or saved copy of the application.

Step 5: Application Fee Payment: Pay online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay). If your fee is not received by SSC, your application will show as “Incomplete” and will be rejected. You can check your fee payment status on your SSC login dashboard. Once paid, the fee is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to other exams.

    SSC JHT 2026 Application Fee

The application fee for the SSC JHT 2026 form varies by category. This fee structure ensures financial ease for reserved and special category candidates while maintaining a nominal charge for others.

    • General: Rs 100
    • SC/ST categories and Ex-Servicemen: No Application Fees

    SSC JHT 2026 Selection Process

The SSC JHT Selection process consists of 4 stages as mentioned below, and it is important to qualify for each based on the criteria given by SSC.

SSC JHT Paper 1: Objective Type

Paper I will have multiple-choice objective questions only. It mainly includes the General Hindi and General English papers of 100 marks each, and the total duration is 2 hours. For each wrong answer in Paper I, 0.25 marks will be deducted. So, answer carefully. There is no option for re-evaluation or re-checking of your answers. Requests for the same will not be entertained.

SSC JHT Paper 2: Descriptive Type

Paper 2 is a descriptive/subjective paper of 200 marks where candidates have to write essays and translate from Hindi to English and English to Hindi. Do not write any personal details like your name, roll number, phone number, or address inside the answer sheet. Doing so will be treated as cheating (Unfair Means), and you will be awarded zero marks, even if you wrote the code

    SSC JHT Document Verification

Those who pass the previous exam stages will have to present at the reported centre with the following documents in their original. This is a small list, and a complete list will be mentioned on the Admit Card of the candidates:

    1. Two passport-size colour photographs
    2. One original valid Photo ID Proof (like Aadhar, PAN, Voter ID, etc.)
    3. Class 10 Certificate (for proof of age)

    5. Experience/Translation Certificate, if applicable
    6. Caste/Category Certificate (if you belong to SC/ST/OBC/EWS)
    7. Disability Certificate (if you’re a PwD candidate)

    SSC JHT Final Selection

If the exam is held in multiple shifts, your marks will be adjusted (normalised) using a formula by SSC to ensure fairness. These normalised scores will be used to prepare the final merit list and cut-off marks. The final selection will be based on the combined marks of Paper I and Paper II.

Candidates will be assigned to different Ministries, Departments, or Organisations based on their total marks in both papers and the preference of posts/departments they selected during the application process.
