WBJEE 2025 Result Date Announced by Chairman

WBJEE board chairperson Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee confirmed that the  WBJEE 2025 results will be announced on August 7. Starting July 31, candidates must upload caste certificate details in the WBJEE portal until August 2. The board will review all applicant data and revisions before determining the outcomes, according to the spokesperson.  “We are sure the process (of uploading details) will be over by the stipulated time and the results will be published on August 7,” according to the chairperson of the WBJEE.

WBJEE Result 2025 Delayed – Reason Explained

On July 29, the Calcutta High Court ordered the state government and WBJEE Board to file affidavits by August 7 justifying the delay in publishing the results. The division bench, led by Justice Sujoy Paul, was hearing a case filed by the guardian of a candidate who took the exam in April. Previously, the Board noted legal obstacles caused by the state government’s decision to expand the number of OBC sub-castes from 64 to 140. The Calcutta High Court had stayed the order, but on July 28, the Supreme Court intervened and stayed the stay.

WBJEE Result 2025 Notice on Social Category Update

According to the Board’s official notice: “In compliance with a directive-cum-legal advisory issued by the Government of West Bengal in the Higher Education Department on July 30, all WBJEE-2025 candidates are hereby given an opportunity to update their Social Category Details (prior to publication of results and document verification) by August 2 (up to 11:59 pm).”

The Board explained that applicants can change their information using the link provided on the WBJEE webpage. The designated institutes will undergo final verification during the admissions process. “Any final decision will be subject to the outcome of pending legal proceedings,” according to the notice.
