NTA revises CUET UG 2025 Accountancy Paper Pattern in Mid way, What’s Next

As we are all aware that the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2025 is currently underway, which started on May 13, 2025. After a week of conducting the exam, the National Testing Agency has revised the CUET UG 2025 Accountancy Paper Pattern midway.

Releasing a press release, the NTA informed the students and stakeholders about the latest changes in the CUET UG 2025 Accountancy Paper Pattern. According to the update, students will now be permitted to pick between questions from Unit V and the optional unit in the CUET Accountancy paper. This adjustment aims to provide more flexibility to candidates.

Why NTA revise the CUET UG 2025 Accountancy Paper Pattern in Mid?

Making everyone surprised, NTA has adopted a significant modification to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) Undergraduate 2025 Accountancy paper. Starting May 22, 2025, candidates will have the ability to choose between questions from Unit V and an optional unit.

This change comes after students expressed issues about the paper’s structure during its initial administration earlier this month. The alteration in the CUET accounts paper pattern is aimed at providing examinees with greater flexibility and balance.

CUET UG Accountancy Paper Pattern 2025

Accountancy is one of the most chosen CUET domain subjects among a commerce background. As we all the CUET exam consists of three sections, and this domain subject test comes under Section II. The CUET UG Accounts Question paper consists of 50 questions, which are all multiple-choice questions. Students need to answer all the compulsory questions within a 60-minute timeframe.

What are the changes in the CUET Accounts Syllabus?

Students are encouraged to read the revised CUET UG Accountancy syllabus carefully in order to grasp the changes. The most noticeable change is that Unit V – Computerised Accounting Systems will now be optional. This allows students to choose more traditional topics if they desire, relieving the burden on those who are less familiar with computerised systems.

The NTA intends to “maintain parity and fairness for all candidates” with these changes, ensuring that the examination procedure is equitable and accessible.

Option for Students who took Exam Earlier

The agency stated that the alteration to the CUET accounts paper pattern is intended to “maintain parity and fairness for all candidates,” particularly those who will take the exam within the remaining schedule beginning May 22. Following this, there is a big question mark over what happened to students who took the exam earlier.

To ensure fair opportunity, the NTA has also offered applicants who took the Accountancy paper between May 13 and May 16, 2025, the option to retake the exam. These students have the option of keeping their original test scores or retaking the paper with revised results. The choice must be confirmed on the official CUET website.
