Previously used Tie-breaking Policy for NEET and JEE Mains by NTA

Till 2020, NTA used a tie-breaker rule. According to the tie-breaker rule, if two students get equal marks then the older one will be given preference for admission to the premier colleges.

This tie-breaker rule has been removed from the system of NTA in 2021. From now on, the students appearing for the medical and engineering entrance exams won’t have the age factor considered for admission. The same rule was already stated in the NEET and JEE Information brochures, released earlier.
