The complete NEET UG counselling procedure is divided into two types; for under 15% AIQ quota, the MMC on behalf of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will conduct admission to MBBS and BDS courses, whereas the other counselling for the remaining 85% state quota seats is controlled by the relevant authorities.
In order to fill out all medical seats, including those at AIIMS and Deemed Universities, the counselling process initially consists of four (main 3) rounds. Each round will confirm the number of vacant seats, and candidates will be assigned seats according to their availability, preferences, and rank. NEET 2025 counselling is offered in four rounds, which are as follows:
- Round 1
- Round 2
- Round 3/Mop-up Round
- Stray Vacancy Round
Spot Rounds: There can be more rounds of counselling to fill the open spots after the first four rounds of counselling are over. Depending on the number of available seats, the number of rounds may go up even further.
