Why does NTA Open NEET 2022 Correction Window Again?

The NEET UG 2022 application registration was completed earlier i.e on 20th May 2022 being the last date. As per the official notice on the website, “In view of the numerous representations received from the candidates regarding allowing them to edit/modify their particulars in the online application form of NEET 2022, National Testing Agency has decided to provide an opportunity to the candidates for modifying their particulars in the online application form of NEET UG 2022.”

NEET 2022 Form Correction Window is a ONE TIME facility, meaning that candidates can edit the form ONLY ONCENO fees would be charged from the candidates for NEET form corrections, except for the fees levied on changing Gender, Category, or PwD.

How to Edit NEET 2022 Application Through Correction Window?

Candidates should follow the below-listed steps and after following these steps they will be able to correct their application forms. The following steps are:

Step 1: Visit the official website of the National Testing Agency for NEET UG 2022 at neet.nta.nic.in.

Step 2: The home page of NEET UG 2022 will appear on your system screen. Navigate to the “Correction for NEET(UG)-2022 available now” link and click on it. 

Step 3: It will redirect you to the new page where you have to click on the “Registration for NEET(UG)-2022” link for corrections in your application.

Step 4: It will redirect you to the application correction window of NEET 2022 where you will be asked to enter the required information such as application number, window, password security PIN, and other such details.

Step 5: Candidates then can make the requisite changes in their NEET UG 2022 exam form. Before submitting the application form the candidates should go through the form well and check the details carefully because these are final changes

Step 6: Submit the OTP that has been sent to your registered mobile number. NEET form correction slip shall appear on your screen

Step 7: Pay the Additional fees through online modes via Debit/Credit card, UPI/net banking, or Paytm to successfully submit your request for Application Correction for NEET 2022.

Details About NEET UG 2022

NEET stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test and is a PAN India Entrance Examination for Medical Aspirants. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency or NTA, NEET provides entrance to UG Medical Courses including MBBS, BDS, and Ayush Courses. For the students to be eligible to avail a seat in any medical college whether in India or outside India the students must clear NEET examinations. Students who have cleared their 10+2 examination are eligible to appear for the NEET UG examinations.

NEET 2022 Eligibility Criteria 

Students appearing for the NEET examinations have to fulfil certain eligibility requirements and upon fulfilling the criteria they will be considered eligible to sit for the exams. The requirements to be fulfilled are as under :

  1. Candidate appearing for the NEET UG 2022 exams should have appeared or is appearing in the class 12 examinations and must have cleared the examination. In case of any other examination but equivalent to 10+2 examination having passed in the following subjects, namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.

  2. Candidates should be at least 17 years of age to be eligible to sit in the examination. In case he has cleared 12 examinations or 10+2 equivalent but his age is lower than 17 he/she will not be allowed to sit in the examinations.

  3. Residents, NRIs, and Foreign Nationals are also eligible to appear for the exams. There is no restriction on students from foreign countries appearing for the NEET UG 2022 Exams. Foreign students can appear for NEET 2022 if they desire to get admission into Indian Medical Colleges.

  4. Students also have to fulfil minimum marks criteria to be eligible for the exams, their class 12 exam marks should be more than the minimum marks shall be counted only for PCB subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology), and minimum marks are 50% for UR, 40% for SC/ST and OBC, and 45% for PWD candidates.

  5. Candidates should note that there is no maximum attempts limit in case a student appeared in the year 2021 and he wants to appear again in the year 2022 he can do so, there is no such restriction on the upper limit on attempts.

Qualifying Codes for NEET 2022

At the time of filling out the application for NEET UG 2022 Exams, candidates will be asked to select qualifying codes. There are seven qualifying codes, Code 01, Code 02, Code 03, Code 04, Code 05, Code 06, and Code 07.

Code 01: This code is to be selected by those applicants who are who will be appearing for their class 12 examinations and those who are yet to receive the results for their class 12 examinations.

Code 02: This code is for those candidates who are studying in higher or senior secondary schools such as the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE). They should have completed a 12-year study period. As per the National Council of Education and Training, the last two years of their 12-year study period should consist of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics along with English as a core subject and any other subject as the elective.

Code 03: This code is to be selected by those candidates who have passed their Intermediate/Pre Degree Examination in Science of any University/Board or other recognized body with Physics, Biology, and English as a compulsory subject.

Code 04: This code is to be selected by those applicants who have completed a Pre Professional/Pre Medical Examination after passing either the Higher Secondary Examination or the Pre University or any other equivalent examination having the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as a compulsory subject. Such Pre-Medical/ Pre Professional Examination should include practical tests as well.

Code 05: This Code applies to students who are pursuing a three years degree course from a recognized University and have qualified the first-year papers including practical tests in subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Such Candidates should have passed the earlier examinations like 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology with English as a compulsory subject.

Code 06: Candidates who have qualified for the BSc Examinations from a Recognised Indian University should select this code. The Thing to be noted is that such Bsc Examination should have not less than two subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology(Botany, Zoology)/Biotechnology
