JEE Mains 2026 Exam Date (Expected) Session 1 & 2, How to Apply Online

JEE Main 2026 exam date: It is expected that the JEE Main exam, session 1, will be administered by the National Test during the last few days of January 2026. The JEE Main 2026 Notification is likely to be announced by the NTA in the first week of November 2025. The computer-based JEE Main exam is offered online twice per year, in January and April. The notice will also mention the dates for the January and April sessions of the JEE Mains 2026 test. Candidates may apply if they have completed Class 12 (10+2) or will take the JEE Mains 2026 exam. The exam will be administered over several days and shifts.

JEE Mains 2026 Exam Date Expected

The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam date is expected to be administered by the NTA in the final days of January 2026. The exam will be administered over multiple days and shifts. The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam is likely to end before the CBSE class 12 boards begin on February 17 (tentative date).

However, the NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2026 session 2 exam date following the CBSE Class 12 board exams, which are set to end on April 9 (tentative date).

JEE Exam Date 2025: Highlights

The Joint Entrance Examination (Main) is administered by the NTA for admission to BTech programs at NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. It is expected that the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam would conclude before the CBSE class 12 boards starting on February 17. However, NTA will schedule the JEE Main 2026 session 2 exam after the CBSE Class 12 board exams.

JEE Mains 2026 Apply Online

The JEE Main 2026 application process is a multi-step, online procedure that demands meticulous attention to detail. Candidates must have all of the necessary paperwork and information before they begin. The application is completed in four steps on the official NTA website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.

1. JEE Mains Registration.

This is the first step in creating your account.
Go to the official JEE Main website and click on the “New Candidate Registration” option.
Please provide your name, mobile number, and email address.
Create a password and choose a security question.
After submitting, an application number will be generated and emailed to you. Keep this secure; you’ll need it for all subsequent logins.

2. Filling out the JEE Mains Application Form

After successfully registering, use your new credentials to log in and complete the detailed form.
Log in using your application number and password.
Enter all of the necessary personal and educational information, including your parents’ names, addresses, and academic credentials.
Choose your desired exam cities (often up to four) and the language for your question paper.
Fill out information about your category and any particular criteria, such as being diabetes or a PWD candidate.

3. JEE Mains Documents: Uploading Scanned Images

You will then upload the relevant documents in the appropriate format.
Upload a scanned image of your passport-size photograph.
Upload a scanned image of your signature.
If prompted, upload any other needed papers, such as category certificates.
Make sure the photographs are clear and suitably sized to avoid having your application denied.

4. Submission of JEE Mains Application Fees

This is the final step in submitting your application.
The application fee varies according to category and gender.
Centers in India charge the following costs for a single paper:

General/EWS/OBC-NCL (male): INR 1,000
General/EWS/OBC-NCL (female): INR 800
SC/ST/PWD/Transgender: INR 500.

Payment must be made online via credit/debit card, internet banking, or UPI.
When the payment is successful, the application form is submitted automatically. Please download and print the confirmation sheet for your records.
