The National Testing Agency offers a single window via CUET UG for admitted students to more than 300+ participating universities countrywide. For the students who are preparing for the same, choosing the correct subjects for CUET UG 2026 is very crucial. While submitting the subject preference in the CUET 2026 Application form, you need to select your subject based on subject mapping based on your intended university and course requirements.
Recently, the Subject list for the CUET has shrunk by NTA. Previously, the CUET Subject list consisted of 33 languages (13 regional and 20 international). However, the UGC has deleted all foreign languages, reducing the total to thirteen. In addition, the number of domain subjects is lowered from 29 to 23.

As per the CUET UG Exam pattern, The CUET exam is broken into three parts: language, domain subjects, and general test. There are a total of 23 subjects, each with 250 marks. Section 1 of the CUET UG Exam contains language papers that offer a total of 13 language options. CUET Domain Subject List 2026
For the CUET Section II, students have the option to choose a list of 23 Domain Subjects in CUET. As per the NTA guidelines, Students must select three or four CUET domain subjects from a list of 23 subjects.
