1. Regular students should wear their school uniforms on exam day. This facilitates identification and promotes discipline.
2. Students should dress comfortably because they will be spending several hours in the examination hall.
3. Private students should wear light clothing.

CBSE Board Exam 2026: What to Carry, What Not to Carry

Candidates are allowed to bring the following 6 items to the CBSE examination centers and exam hall.

• CBSE 10th Admit Card 2026/ CBSE 12th Admit Card 2026 & School Identification Card (For Regular Students) – Regular students must bring their admit card and school ID for verification at the center.
• Stationery Items – Students can keep important stationery in a transparent pouch, which includes a geometry/pencil box, blue or royal blue ink/ballpoint gel pen, scale, writing pad, and eraser.
• CBSE Admit Card 2026 for Private Students and Any Government-Issued Photo ID Proof – Private students must present their admit card and any government-issued picture ID, such as a voter ID, Aadhar card, or passport, for identification verification.
• Transparent water bottle – Candidates may bring a clear water bottle for hydration.
• Analogue Watch – A simple analogue watch is OK. Digital watches, smartwatches, and other electronic devices are not allowed.
• Any Pass, and Money – Candidates may bring a MetroCard, a bus pass, or money for convenience.

CBSE Board Exam Class 10th, 12th: What Not to Carry

The following goods are strictly prohibited at the examination center for CBSE 10th Board Exam 2026/ CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2026.

• Prohibited Items – Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earbuds, microphones, pagers, fitness bands, smartwatches, and cameras are all prohibited. Wallets, goggles, handbags, and pouches are prohibited. Electronic devices such as pens and scanners, Pen drives, calculators, and Communication Devices are not allowed.
• Supplied Items – log tables will be provided by the exam centers.
• Foods – Any edible items (except diabetic students, who are allowed to bring food for medical reasons).

Note – Students with learning difficulties, such as dyscalculia, may use a calculator as approved by CBSE Circular No. CBSE/COORD/2020.

Strict Action will be taken for Unfair means

Any objects that could be used for an unjust purpose, such as unauthorized notes or gadgets, will result in a penalty under the “Unfair Means” category. Using the items listed above will result in severe consequences, according to the examination rules.
