Question

The roots of the quadratic equation 7x² – 10x + 3 = 0 are:

A.

1 and 371 \, \text{and} \, \frac{3}{7}

B.

1 and 37-1 \, \text{and} \, -\frac{3}{7}

C.

1 and 37-1 \, \text{and} \, \frac{3}{7}

D.

1 and 371 \, \text{and} \, -\frac{3}{7}

Correct option is A

Given:

Quadratic equation: 7x210x+3=07x^2 - 10x + 3 = 0

Solution:

7x210x+3=07x^2 - 10x + 3 = 0

7x27x3x+3=07x^2 - 7x - 3x + 3 = 0

(7x27x)(3x3)=0(7x^2 - 7x) - (3x - 3) = 0

7x(x - 1) -3(x - 1) = 0

(7x - 3)(x - 1) = 0

x - 1 = 0  and  7x - 3 = 0

x = 1 and 37\frac{3}{7}
