SSC CGL Shift Timings Details
The SSC CGL Exam 2025 is conducted in multiple shifts each day to accommodate the large number of candidates. The exam is held in three shifts, and candidates are allotted their shift timing through their admit card. The SSC CGL shift timings are as follows:
Shift 1: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Shift 2: 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
Shift 3: 4 PM – 5 PM
SSC CGL Selection Process
The SSC CGL exam is conducted in two main stages: Tier 1 and Tier 2.
Tier 1: A Computer-Based Test (CBT) with MCQs, held in English & Hindi (except English section). It has a negative marking of 0.50 per wrong answer. This is a qualifying exam with minimum marks: UR (30%), OBC/EWS (25%), others (20%).
Tier 2: The main exam, also CBT-based, with multiple papers. Negative marking: 1 mark for wrong answers in some sections and 0.50 in others. Paper I is compulsory for all, while Papers II & III are for specific posts like Junior Statistical Officer. Scores of Tier 2 are considered for final merit.
