What is the Eligibility Criteria?
Candidates must fulfil the prescribed domicile, educational qualification and age requirements to apply for the Constable post.
Domicile
Candidates applying for the advertised post must possess a valid Domicile Certificate of the Union Territory of Ladakh issued by the competent authority.
For Border Battalion preference and allocation, candidates must possess a valid domicile certificate establishing domicile in an eligible border village as recognised by the competent authority.
Educational Qualification
The candidate must have passed 10th Class/Matriculation from a recognised Board of School Education.
However, serving Special Police Officers (SPOs) of Ladakh Police who have completed at least three years of continuous engagement on the last date of application are eligible with an 8th-pass qualification, subject to fulfilment of all other prescribed conditions. The required qualification must have been acquired on or before the last date for submission of the online application.
Age Limit
The prescribed age limit is 18 to 28 years, calculated as on 1 January 2026, subject to applicable relaxations.

Desired Qualification and Incentive Marks
Candidates possessing certain desired qualifications can receive incentive marks. The notification specifies the following desired qualifications:
- Proficiency in driving along with a valid Light Motor Vehicle Driving Licence with transport endorsement; or
- A one-year Certificate Course in Computer Application from an institution recognised by AICTE, along with documentary proof of recognition.
A candidate can claim incentive marks for only one of these desired qualifications.
