JAIIB Qualification

Before applying for the JAIIB Exam, candidates must carefully review the eligibility conditions set by the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF).

  • The primary requirement is that applicants should have passed the 12th standard exam in any discipline or an equivalent qualification.
  • Clerical or supervisory staff may also be eligible for JAIIB Exam with a recommendation from their bank, even if they have not passed Class 12.
  • Subordinate staff of recognized Banking/ Financial Institutions in India, who are members
    of the Institute, are also eligible to apply, provided they have passed the 12th standard examination or its equivalent.

Only ordinary members of the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF) are eligible to appear for the JAIIB Exam. To become a member, candidates must be employed in a bank or financial institution that is affiliated with IIBF. After obtaining ordinary membership, they can apply for the JAIIB Exam.

Number Of Attempts For JAIIB Exam 2026

  • A candidate will be given 5 attempts for passing the JAIIB exam, within a maximum period of three years, whichever is earlier.
  • These 5 attempts need not be consecutive. Candidates who are unable to pass the examination within this time period of 3 years or 5 attempts will be required to re-enrol themselves for future attempts.
  • Such candidates will not get marks or benefit for the subjects they may have already passed in earlier attempts.
  • The counting of the number of attempts starts from the first registration date. Even if a candidate applies for an attempt but doesn’t actually sit for the exam, it will still be counted as an attempt.
  • If a candidate uses all 5 chances before 3 years are over, then they must re-enrol themselves.
  • If 3 years are over but a candidate hasn’t used all 5 chances, then they still have to re-enrol themselves.
