GSSSB Sanitary Inspector Vacancy 2026

The GSSSB has announced 22 vacancies for the Sanitary Inspector, Class-3 post. The category-wise distribution mentioned in the notification is given below:

What is the Eligibility Criteria?

Candidates must fulfil the prescribed educational and other eligibility conditions before applying.

Educational Qualification

Applicants should have passed HSC/12th or an equivalent examination recognized by the Government. In addition, candidates must possess either:

• A minimum one-year Health Sanitary Inspector Diploma from a government-recognized institution; or
• A minimum one-year Health Sanitary Inspector Certificate course from a recognized ITI or educational institution.

Candidates must also possess basic computer knowledge as prescribed under the applicable Gujarat Government rules and adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

Age Limit

As on 31 August 2026, the candidate must:

• Be at least 18 years old, and
• Not be more than 33 years old.

The upper age limit may be relaxed for candidates already serving under the Gujarat Government, as provided under the applicable Gujarat Civil Services rules.

Steps to Apply for GSSSB Sanitary Inspector Recruitment 2026

Eligible candidates can submit the GSSSB Sanitary Inspector application form online through the OJAS portal by following these steps:

GSSSB Sanitary Inspector Selection Process 2026

The selection will be based on a one-stage competitive examination consisting of objective-type multiple-choice questions. The examination will be conducted through CBRT/OMR mode.The question paper will consist of two parts:

The examination will have a negative marking system. For every incorrect answer, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted from the candidate’s score.

GSSSB Sanitary Inspector Salary 2026

Selected candidates will initially receive a fixed monthly salary of ₹26,000 for the first five years, subject to the conditions prescribed by the Government.
After satisfactory completion of the prescribed period, candidates may be placed in the regular Level-4 pay scale of ₹25,500 to ₹81,100 under the Seventh Pay Commission, subject to the applicable rules and conditions.
