BPSC DSO Selection Process
The Bihar District Selection Officer (DSO) selection process includes three stages:
- Preliminary Exam: A 2-hour objective test on General Studies (150 marks). Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks (e.g., 40% for General) to qualify. About ten times the vacancies advance to the Main Exam.
- Main Exam: Subjective exam with compulsory papers—General Hindi (100 marks, qualifying), General Studies I & II (300 marks each)—plus one optional subject (Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics, 300 marks). Minimum qualifying marks apply.
- Interview: Conducted for candidates who clear the Main Exam, carrying 120 marks. Approximately 2.5 times the vacancies are called.
