The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has officially released the APSC CCE Mains Exam Date 2026 for candidates who qualified in the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) Preliminary Exam. Applicants can apply for the Combined Competitive (Main) Examination 2026 From 4 August 2026 to 24 August 2026. APSC CCE Mains Exam Schedule 2026 Out

The Commission has published the official Mains examination schedule on its website. The CCE  Mains exam is scheduled to be held from 9 October 2026 to 11 October 2026. Candidates who have qualified in the Preliminary Examination must complete the online application for the Mains examination within the prescribed dates. The detailed timetable includes paper-wise exam dates, reporting time, and examination shifts. APSC Recruitment 2025-26

For all Graduated candidates, it is the best opportunity to get the Civil Service posts in the Assam Government. To be eligible for these posts, candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria in terms of Educational Qualifications and Age limit. Through this recruitment, a total of 78 CCE posts will be filled through eligible candidates who will clear all stages as part of the recruitment process.

Eligibility Criteria For APSC CCE 2025-26

To apply for these civil service posts, every candidate must know the criteria details i.e. educational qualifications and age limit. Without meet criteira, the application form will be rejected at any level during the application process.

Educational Qualification

• Degree: You must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognised University or an equivalent institution.
• Final Year Students: Candidates awaiting final results can apply; they have to provide their final degree/marksheet at the time of the Main Examination document verification.
• Language & Domicile: You must be an original inhabitant of Assam and should be proficient in Assamese or any other official language of the state.

Age limit

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and no older than 38 years as of January 1, 2026. However, the government provides the following upper age limit extensions for specific categories:

• SC / ST (P) / ST (H): Up to 43 years (5-year relaxation).
• OBC / MOBC: Up to 41 years (3-year relaxation).
• PwBD: Up to 48 years (10-year relaxation).

What is the Selection Process?

The selection process for the APSC CCE 2025-26 is organised to evaluate a candidate’s intellectual ability, depth of knowledge, and personality traits. Only those who clear the qualifying marks in each successive stage are shortlisted for the final merit list.

The stages of the selection process are as follows:

• Preliminary Examination: This is an objective-type (MCQ) screening test consisting of two papers: General Studies I and General Studies II (CSAT).
• Main Examination: This stage consists of a series of descriptive/written papers (Essay and General Studies papers) that test your specialised knowledge and analytical skills.
• Interview (Personality Test): Candidates who pass the Mains exam are called for a face-to-face interview. In this stage, the commission checks your communication skills, presence of mind, and overall suitability for a career in public service.
