• Structure: Family, Marriage, Kinship, Caste, Tribe, Ethnicity, Religion, Women.
• Issues: Casteism, Communalism, Crime against Women, Child Labour, Youth unrest.
• Welfare: Policies, Constitutional & statutory provisions for SC, ST, BC, Minorities, Women, Disabled, Children.

4. Current Affairs (30 Marks)

• International, National, and State (AP) current issues and events.

5. Mental Ability (30 Marks)

• Logical Reasoning: Statement-based questions (assumptions, arguments, conclusions).
• Mental Ability: Series, Odd one out, Coding-decoding, Relations, Shapes.
• Basic Numeracy: Averages, Ratios, Percentages, SI & CI, Time & Work, Speed & Distance.
• Data Analysis: Tables, Bar Graphs, Line Graphs, Pie Charts.

APPSC Group 2 Syllabus 2026: Mains

The APPSC Group 2 Mains Includes 2 papers – Paper I [Social & Cultural History of Andhra Pradesh & Indian Constitution] Paper II [Indian and AP Economy & Science and Technology]. Detailed Syllabus is given Below.

Paper I

Paper I consists of 150 Questions for 150 Marks and it is further divided into two sections, Section A – Social & Cultural History of Andhra Pradesh, Section B – Indian Constitution

Section A: Social & Cultural History of Andhra Pradesh (75 Marks)

1. Pre-historic cultures, Satavahanas, Ikshvakus, Vishnukundins, Chalukyas, Andhra Cholas – Society, Religion, Language, Art & Architecture.
2. Dynasties between 11th–16th centuries – Social, religious, economic conditions, growth of Telugu literature.
3. Advent of Europeans, 1857 Revolt in Andhra, British rule, Social & cultural awakening, Nationalist movements in Andhra (1885–1947).
4. Andhra Movement – Role of leaders, Andhra Mahasabhas, Press, Library Movement, Tribal culture.
5. Formation of Andhra Pradesh – Visalandhra, States Reorganisation, Gentlemen’s Agreement, cultural events (1956 onwards).

Section B: Indian Constitution (75 Marks)

• Nature, development, salient features, preamble, rights, duties, amendments.
• Legislature, Executive, Judiciary, Judicial review & activism.
• Union-State relations, Constitutional bodies, RTI, Lokpal.
• Commissions: Rajmannar, Sarkaria, Punchchi; Electoral reforms, Anti-defection law.
• Decentralization – Panchayati Raj, 73rd & 74th Amendments.

Paper II

Paper II consists of 150 Questions for 150 Marks, and it is further divided into two sections, Section A – Indian & AP Economy, Section B – Science & Technology

Section A: Indian & AP Economy (75 Marks)

• Indian Economy: National income, planning, economic growth, 1991 reforms, NITI Aayog.
• Banking & Finance: RBI, monetary policy, GST, Fiscal policy, Budget, BOP, FDI.

• AP Economy: GSDP, revenue, expenditure, debt, budgets.

Section B: Science & Technology (75 Marks)

• Technology: S&T policy, space tech, DRDO, ICT, cyber security, nuclear energy.
• Energy: Renewable & non-renewable sources, policies, schemes.
• Environment: Ecology, biodiversity, wildlife conservation, biosphere reserves.
• Waste & Pollution: Solid waste management, eco-friendly technologies, pollution control.
• Health & Sustainability: Climate change, global warming, sustainable development, health challenges, public health initiatives.

APPSC Group 2 Syllabus 2026: Computer Proficiency Test [CPT]

APPSC Group 2 Syllabus for CPT consists of Part A & Part B that tests Proficiency in Office Automation with Computers & Software of a Candidate. Below is the detailed Syllabus for APPSC Group 2 CPT Syllabus.

Part A

• Introduction to Computers – Components, devices, memory.
• Software – System, Application, Open Source.
• Operating Systems – Single/Multi-user, Windows, Linux, MacOS basics.

APPSC Group 2 Exam Pattern 2026

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) conducts the Group 2 Services Exam in multiple stages – Screening Test (Prelims), Main Examination, and Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). The exam is of degree standard and is conducted in objective type format.

Screening Test (Prelims) – Exam Pattern

• Each question carries 1 mark.
• Negative marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for every wrong answer.

Main Examination – Exam Pattern

• Total Marks: 300
