Temperature Conversion Formula

Basically temperature is measured in three units viz. Kelvin, Celsius and Fahrenheit. The conversion of temperature from one unit to another can be done by using a certain formula. According to the Kelvin scale, the freezing point of water is 273.15K and its boiling point is 373.15K. On Fahrenheit scale, the freezing point of water is 32°F and the boiling point is 212°F and on the Celsius scale, the freezing point of water is 0°C and the boiling point is 100°C. These data are used in the unit conversion. We have provided here important temperature conversion formulae for the ease of students.

Celsius and Kelvin Conversion

Celsius to Kelvin Conversion Formula

K = C + 273.15

Kelvin to Celsius Conversion Formula

C = K – 273.15

Celsius and Fahrenheit Conversion

Celsius to Fahrenheit Conversion Formula

C = (F – 32) × 5/9

Fahrenheit to Celsius Conversion Formula

F = 9/5C + 32

Fahrenheit and Kelvin Conversion

Fahrenheit to Kelvin Conversion Formula

K = (F − 32) × 5/9 + 273.15

Kelvin to Fahrenheit Conversion Formula

F = (K – 273.15) × 9/5 + 32

How to Convert Degree Celsius to Fahrenheit (°C to F)?

Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion is probably the most confusing task for some students. But we are going to provide here the easiest way to convert the temperature unit from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Mostly the temperature is measured in degree Celsius or Kelvin. But sometimes it is calculated in Fahrenheit unit also for special purposes. For the ease of candidates, we are going to discuss here a formula to convert the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit easily.

Where, F = Fahrenheit, and C = Celsius

Convert 37° C to F

By using the above formula we can easily convert 37° C to F as follows:

put C = 37° then, F = 9/5 × 37 + 32

F = 66.6 + 32

F = 98.6

°C to F Conversion Examples

There are some solved examples of °C to F Conversion are given here for a better understanding of candidates. Solve these problems to boost the concept and clarify your doubts.

Q. Covert 25 °C to F

Solution: Here, C = 25

we know that F = 9/5C + 32

F = 9/5 × 25 + 32

F = 77

Q. Covert 83 °C to F

Solution: Here, C = 83

then, F = 9/5C + 32

F = 9/5 × 83 + 32

F = 181.4

Q. 105 °C = —— F

Solution: Here C = 105

then, F = 9/5C + 32

F = 9/5 105 + 32

F = 221

We can also convert Fahrenheit to Degree Celsius using this formula. Let us see some examples for the same here.

Q. Convert 98 F to °C

Solution: By using the formula F = 9/5C + 32

F = 98 then, 98 = 9/5C + 32

98 – 32 = 9/5C

66 = 9/5C

9C = 66 × 5

C = 66 × 5/9

C = 36.66

Q. 53 F = — °C

Solution: Here, F = 53

we know that F = 9/5C + 32

then, 53 = 9/5C + 32

53 – 32 = 9/5C

21 = 9/5C

C = 21 ×  5/9

C = 11.66

°C to K Conversion

Q. Convert 72 °C to K

Solution: We know that K = C + 273.15

K = 72 + 273.15

K = 345.15

K to °C Conversion

Q. 156K = —- °C

Solution: We know that K = C + 273.15

156 = C + 273.15

C = 156 – 273.15

C = – 117.16

F to K Conversion

Q. Convert 312F to K

Solution: We know that K = (F − 32) × 5/9 + 273.15

K = (312 – 32) × 5/9 + 273.15

K = 280 × 5/9 + 273.15

K = 428.7055

K to F Conversion

Q. Convert 405K to F

Solution: We know that K = (F − 32) × 5/9 + 273.15

405 = (F – 32) × 5/9 + 273.15

405 – 273.15 = (F – 32) × 5/9

131.85 = (F – 32) × 5/9

5 (F – 32) = 9 × 131.85

5F – 160 = 1186.65

5F = 1346.65

F = 269.33
