The Online Exam will be held on 7 th April in many examination centres in multiple shifts, which will be updated on the official website. Selection Process of SSC JE Exam 2026

The SSC JE selection process has three main stages: Paper 1, Paper 2, and document verification. Candidates need to understand the process well to prepare for each stage and increase their chances of success. Here’s a breakdown of the selection stages for SSC JE:

• SSC JE CBT 1: Tier 1 consists of 200 multiple-choice questions covering general awareness, reasoning, and logical ability, and specific subjects related to the chosen discipline. Each correct answer earns 1 mark, while each wrong answer results in a deduction of 0.25 marks. The exam lasts for 2 hours. The goal of Paper 1 is to test the candidate’s basic knowledge in general awareness and their technical field.
• SSC JE CBT 2: Tier II is focused on the specific subject of the candidate’s choice and includes 100 questions. These questions aim to test the candidate’s deeper understanding of core subjects. Each correct answer is worth 3 marks, and wrong answers lead to a penalty of 1 mark. This exam also lasts for 2 hours.
• SSC JE Document Verification: Candidates who pass Paper 1 and Paper 2 will move to the document verification stage. At this point, they must bring all original documents and certificates for verification.
• Medical Examination: Candidates will also need to pass a medical examination to make sure they meet the health standards required by the respective departments.
