RCFL Operator Trainee Eligibility Criteria 2026

Eligibility details for the Trainee Operator post are given below. The Final-year graduation or post-graduation candidates are not eligible to apply. Candidates must read the criteria carefully before applying.

Education Qualification

• Full-time & regular B.Sc. (Chemistry) Degree with Physics as one of the subjects during any of the 3 years of the course + passing of NCVT Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant) AO(CP) Trade (must be completed after B.Sc.) OR
• Full-time & regular 3-year Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Technology + successful completion of 1-year BOAT training under the Apprentice Act, 1961
• Candidates with HSC (Science) and direct admission to 2nd year/3rd semester of Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Technology + 1-year BOAT training are also eligible

      OR

• 4 years (8 semesters) or 3½ years (7 semesters) full-time Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Technology under Sandwich pattern from a recognised University/Institution
• Candidates with HSC (Science) and lateral entry in the Sandwich Diploma are also eligible

Minimum Qualifying Marks

• Minimum 55% marks in the final year or an average of the last two semesters of the qualifying examination
• Minimum 50% marks for SC/ST candidates

Upper Age Limit (as on 1st February 2026)

• Unreserved (UR): 30 years
• OBC (NCL): 33 years
• SC/ST: 35 years
• Additional relaxation of 5 years for Ex-Serviceman/children/family members of victims of the 1984 riots

RCFL Operator Trainee Selection Process

• Online Written Test: A discipline-wise merit list will be prepared based on the online Computer-Based Test, and candidates will be provisionally shortlisted for the skill test. Candidates with nil or negative marks will not be considered for the next round.
• Skill Test: Eligible candidates, based on online test performance and document scrutiny, will be called for a qualifying skill test in the ratio of 1:7.
• Document Scrutiny: Documents of provisionally shortlisted candidates will be scrutinised as per the eligibility criteria, and candidature will be cancelled in case of any shortfall or incorrect documents without further opportunity.

RCFL Operator Trainee Exam Pattern 2026

The written test consists of two sections: Discipline-related and Aptitude. It is conducted for a duration of 90 minutes. Each question carries 2 marks making a total of 200 marks. Negative marking is applicable for incorrect answers.

RCFL Operator Trainee Skill Test

The skill test will check your practical knowledge and your ability to handle technical equipment. Out of the total 100 marks, 80 marks are given for practical skills, while 20 marks are for safety awareness and basic computer knowledge. To pass the skill test, you need to score at least 60 marks. For SC/ST candidates, the qualifying marks are slightly lower at 55.

RFCL Medical Test

Candidates who wish to join RCF Limited must first meet the company’s medical fitness requirements. The medical test generally includes a basic health check-up, hearing and vision tests, ECG, blood and urine tests, chest X-ray, lung function test, and measurement of height, weight, and BMI. If necessary, the medical officer may ask for some additional tests based on your health condition.

• The RCFL Operator Trainee online test will be conducted in Mumbai and Nagpur.
• The test will be available in Marathi, Hindi (Rajbhasha), and English.
• No request for change of exam centre, date or session will be accepted after final submission.
• However, RCF Ltd. reserves the right to modify or add centres based on candidate response.
