How to apply for Naval Dockyard Apprentice Recruitment 2026?

Step 1-Online Registration: Register on www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in under the NAPS portal as a Candidate. Make sure the name and date of birth match exactly as per  Aadhaar and SSC certificate.

Step 2-Profile Completion: Log in and fill in your education details, trade preference, Aadhaar/PAN/bank details, community information, and upload required documents. Ensure your profile shows 100% completion.

Step 3-Trade Application: Search for “NAVAL DOCKYARD” (Establishment ID: E08152800002), choose your preferred trade from the list and apply as per the portal instructions.

Step 4-Print Documents: Take a printout of the complete apprentice profile and two hall tickets (Annexure-I). Fill the hall tickets using a pen and paste your passport-size photographs.

Naval Dockyard Apprentice 2026 Selection Process

Selection process for Naval Dockyard Visakhapatnam apprentices follows a multi-stage merit-based procedure. Final Merit List is prepared trade-wise and category-wise based on written exam marks. If two candidates get the same marks, the older one is given preference Final selected candidates will begin their one-year apprenticeship training from 02 May 2026.

Shortlisting for Written Exam: Candidates are shortlisted based on their SSC/Matric (70%) and ITI (30%) marks. A trade and category-wise merit list is prepared and around 5 times the number of vacancies are called for the exam.

Written Examination: An OMR-based test with 100 multiple-choice questions from Mathematics (35), General Science (35) and General Knowledge (30) will be conducted. Each question carries 1 mark, the duration is 2 hours and there is no negative marking. The exam is scheduled for 22 March 2026 at Visakhapatnam.

Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates have to produce original documents like SSC and ITI certificates, Aadhaar, and applicable category certificates for verification. This is expected to be held on 30 March 2026.

Medical Examination: Candidates found eligible after document check will undergo a medical fitness test as per the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 starting from 31 March 2026 onwards.
