GPSC Selection Process
Executive Engineer & Deputy Executive Engineer: Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, Interview, and Document Verification.
Preliminary Exam Pattern
The exam is conducted into two papers. Paper I includes General Studies and Engineering Aptitude, which carry 100 marks each, making a total of 200 marks, and this paper has a duration of 2 hours. Paper II is focused on Civil Engineering, which carries 300 marks. Altogether, the exam is conducted for a total of 500 marks.
Mains Exam Pattern
The exam is conducted in five papers with a total of 800 marks. The first paper is in the Gujarati Language, which carries 100 marks and must be completed in 2 hours. The second paper is English Language, also for 100 marks, with a duration of 2 hours. The remaining three papers are from Civil Engineering, each carrying 200 marks. Civil Engineering Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III are conducted for 3 hours each.
Interview
The interview carries 100 marks and checks the candidate’s knowledge, confidence, and communication skills.
GPSC Engineering Service Salary Structure
For Class-I: Pay scale – Rs. 67,700/- to Rs. 2,08,700/- per month.
For Class-II: Rs. 53,100/- to Rs. 1,67,800/- per month.
