Second, CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute (CSIR-NGRI), Hyderabad, released a notification (Advt No. 01/2026) on 5 September 2026 for 21 Technician posts, & candidates can apply till 4 October 2026.

CSIR Technician Eligibility Criteria 2026
CSIR Educational Qualification (Common for Both)
- SSC/10th standard with Science subjects and a minimum of 55% marks.
- An ITI certificate/National or State Trade Certificate in the relevant trade.
- OR equivalent apprenticeship training (2 years) / relevant work experience (up to 3 years), as detailed post-wise in the respective official notifications.
Note: While the broad qualification criteria are similar, candidates should verify trade-wise and post-wise specifics in each notification PDF, as CSIR (HQ) and CSIR-NGRI may require different trades depending on their institutional needs.
CSIR Age Limit 2026
- CSIR (HQ): Upper age limit is 28 years as on 17 September 2026.
- CSIR-NGRI: Age limit is 18–28 years, with the cutoff date being 4 October 2026.
- Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, departmental candidates, and certain categories of women as per government norms in both notifications.

The official online application windows for both CSIR Technician Recruitment 2026 notifications are now active. For the CSIR (HQ) notification (Advt. No. R&A/01/2026, 43 posts), candidates can submit their applications from 18 August 2026 (10:00 AM) through the portal at recruitment.csir.resin / www.csir.res.in, till 17 September 2026 (5:00 PM). For the CSIR-NGRI notification (Advt. No. 01/2026, 21 posts), candidates can apply online from 5 September 2026 (10:00 AM) at tiru.ngri.res.in/ngri_tech/, till 4 October 2026 (6:00 PM). How to Apply for CSIR Technician Recruitment 2026
Eligible candidates must apply online; no other mode of application is accepted.
- Go to the official website for the respective notification.
- Click Apply Online and register with your name, email address, and mobile number to receive a User ID and password.
- Fill in Gender, Date of Birth, Marital Status, Category, PwBD status (if applicable), Ex-Serviceman status (if applicable), and Govt./CSIR employee status. Once verified and locked, these profile details cannot be changed.
- The form has 6 tabs: Apply, Personal Details, Education, Experience, Additional Details, Uploads, and Preview & Submit.
- Scanned photograph (JPG, under 50 KB, 200×150 px), Live Photo Capture, signature (JPG, under 50 KB, 50×150 px), and PDF certificates (each under 1 MB) – proof of date of birth, educational qualifications (10th onwards), experience certificate, caste/disability certificate (if applicable), Discharge Book (if ESM), and NOC from present employer (if applicable).
- Applicable candidates pay Rs. 500/- online via SBI Collect and upload the e-Receipt/transaction receipt before the closing date.
- Verify all details on the Preview page before final submission, as details cannot be edited afterward. Note the generated Application No. and take a printout for your records.
CSIR Technician Selection Process 2026
Selection for CSIR Technician (1) posts follows a multi-stage process:
- Applications received within the stipulated period are screened by a Screening Committee.
- Candidates recommended/shortlisted by the Screening Committee are invited for a Trade Test, which is qualifying in nature.
- Candidates who qualify the Trade Test appear for a competitive written examination comprising Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III.
- Minimum threshold marks for the Trade Test and each paper are fixed by the Selection Committee. Paper-II and Paper-III are evaluated only for candidates who clear the Paper-I threshold.
- The final merit list is prepared solely on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III.
