How to Apply for CSL Workmen Recruitment 2026?

The candidates can apply for only one post as exams for different posts will be held at the same time. Below are the step by step procedure to apply for Cochin Shipyard Recruitment 2026.

• Visit the official website www.cochinshipyard.in and go to Career → CSL, Kochi → Online Application link. Register by entering your basic details and upload your photograph and signature.

• Fill in the application form carefully and upload documents related to qualification, experience, and category. Read the general instructions carefully before proceeding with the form.

Cochin Shipyard Workmen 2026 Selection Process

The selection process for CSL Workmen Recruitment is primarily based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by post-specific tests and document verification. The examination will be based in Kerala for all the posts.

1. Shortlisting Based on Computer-Based Test (CBT)

• All candidates are first assessed through an objective-type online test.

• Senior Ship Draftsman Posts: 70 marks, 75 minutes

  • General Knowledge, English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude – 20 marks. Discipline-related questions – 50 marks

• Other Posts (Junior Technical Assistant, Laboratory Assistant, Storekeeper, Assistant): 70 marks, 75 minutes

  • General – 20 marks. Discipline-related – 50 marks

• Minimum Pass Marks for CBT:

  • UR/EWS: 50%

  • OBC: 45%

  • SC/PwBD: 40%

• Candidates who meet the minimum criteria are shortlisted for the second phase.

2. Second Phase-Post-Specific Test

• Senior Ship Draftsman: Practical test in CAD (30 marks) at CSL Kochi.

• Other Posts: Descriptive-type online test (30 marks, 60 minutes) covering discipline-specific knowledge. Only candidates who qualify the objective test are evaluated in the descriptive test.

3. Document Verification

• Shortlisted candidates are required to submit original certificates and documents for verification.

• Only those whose documents are verified successfully are considered for the final merit list.

4. Final Merit List 

• Final ranking is based on aggregate marks from CBT and the second phase test.

• In case of a tie, discipline-related scores are considered first followed by age.

Cochin Shipyard CSL Workmen 2026 Salary

• The W7 pay scale (₹23,500–77,000) is applicable for candidates applying for Senior Ship Draftsman, Junior Technical Assistants (all disciplines), Laboratory Assistants (Mechanical/Chemical) and Storekeeper posts. The current monthly salary for these posts is ₹42,773.

• The W6 pay scale (₹22,500–73,750) is for candidates applying for Assistant posts (34 vacancies), with a current monthly salary of ₹41,055.

• In addition to the basic pay, candidates will also receive benefits such as NPS, PF, gratuity, medical schemes, and leave encashment according to company rules.
