BEL Chennai Apprentices 2026 Eligibility Criteria for Walk-in Interview

• Candidates applying for Graduate and Diploma Apprentices must belong to the Southern Region only, which includes Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and Puducherry.
• Applicants should have completed a full-time, regular Graduation or Diploma from an AICTE/DOTE/UGC-recognized Board or University on or after 01 April 2021.
• The minimum required percentage in Graduation or Diploma is 60% and above for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, while SC/ST candidates must have secured at least 50%. For candidates applying under the Optional Apprentice category (B.Com / BBA / BBM), the minimum qualifying percentage is 50% and above.
• Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing Apprenticeship Training under NATS or NAPS in any organisation are not eligible.
• Applicants having more than one year of work experience in private organisations are also not eligible to apply.
• For ITI Apprentices, only Indian Nationals belonging to Tamil Nadu are eligible. ITI candidates who have passed on or after 01 January 2021 are eligible to appear for the walk-in selection process.

The application process involves both online and offline processes. The primary step is that candidates must complete the NAPS/NATS registration process before filling out the application form. ITI candidates are required to register on the Apprenticeship India (NAPS) portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. Graduate and Diploma candidates must enrol on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) web portal. After successful registration, candidates must furnish their valid NAPS/NATS registration number in the BEL application form as applications without proper registration details will not be considered.

The selection process involves the following stages:

1. Shortlisting Based on Merit: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed basic qualification relevant to the discipline.
2. Intimation: Shortlisted candidates will be informed through their registered email ID.
3. Document Verification (DV): The list of shortlisted candidates will also be published on the BEL official website and candidates will be called for document verification.

Note: Candidates who have a CGPA or grade-based score must convert it into a percentage as per the norms prescribed by their respective university or college. The official conversion formula or details issued by the institution should also be submitted at the time of document verification.
