How are the XAT Scores 2026 calculated?

Unlike the CAT exam, XAT has only one slot, there is no scaled score. Your percentiles will only be determined using your raw score.

XAT Raw Score Counting

Raw foundation scores before normalization. For example, with 60 correct, 15 incorrect, and 12 unattempted (4 beyond 8),

the score is: (60 × 1) + (15 × -0.25) + (4 × -0.1) = 60 – 3.75 – 0.4 = 55.85 out of 75 for main portions.

XAT Percentile Formula.

The formula is: Percentile = [(Total Candidates (N) – Candidate’s Rank (R)) / N] × 100, with rank ties sharing slots.

Example: With N=100,000 and R=2,000, Percentile = [(100,000 – 2,000)/100,000] × 100 = 98 percentile, indicating 98% scored below. Results are rounded to two decimals and applied post-exam via the official scorecard.​
