Tamil Nadu Government announced the evaluation process to be adopted for Class 12 students. Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M K Stalin on Saturday announced the same.
The evaluating process will give 50 percent weightage to Class 10 Board results which will be the average of the top 3 subjects, while 20 percent weightage will be given to Class 11 finals and 30 percent to internal and practical’s of Class 12.
The government canceled the Board Exams for Class 12 in the state due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Later, a committee was formed that decided the final criteria based on which, marks of students will be calculated.
The students who failed in class 11 finals will be given 35 percent marks. The results will be published on the website by July 31, 2021. For students who will not be satisfied with the final marks been given according to the proposed criteria can reapply for offline exams.
The marks scored in the final exams held offline will be considered as final and no changes will be made to it. The exam will be conducted once the pandemic situation subsides. The timetable and registration dates will be announced later.
In the latest information regarding entrance exams, the information brochure has been released for JEE Advanced by IIT Kharagpur.
The information brochure stated that these students who will be giving JEE advanced 2021 after clearing mains in 2020 will be considered extra and seats for them will not be merged with the 2021 batch students.
Till last year students needed to score 75% on the boards to be able to eligible for admission to the prestigious institute. But due to the covid situation, almost all the states and central have canceled the Board exams and so this eligibility criterion is no longer valid for 2021.

The Central Board of Secondary Education too had canceled their Board for this year. They have marked students based on the 30:30:40 criteria for Class 10 and Class 12. A committee was formed in CBSE, which decided upon the evaluation, and later the same was submitted to the Supreme Court of India.
