NIMCET 2026 Exam Date
The expected NIMCET 2026 Exam Date is scheduled to take place in the Second week of June 2026. As the notification is yet to come, all the aspiring students may consider the tentative NIMCET exam date and plan their preparation around it. The NIMCET Exam is totally conducted online (Computer-Based Test) and is designed to examine students in Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness, and English.
The NIMCET Question paper comprises 120 multiple-choice questions worth a total of 1000 marks, with sectional time and negative marking. Final Admissions are provided only based on the NIMCET rank, followed by centralised online counselling.

NIMCET 2026 Eligibility
Before filling out the application form, candidates must ensure that they meet the following NIMCET 2026 eligibility criteria:
- Citizenship: Candidates must be of Indian nationality to be eligible for the NIMCET.
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the required subjects) or a B.Tech/B.E. to be eligible for the NIMCET.
- Marks Criteria: In the qualifying degree, candidates must get 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
- Appearing: Candidates in their last semester/year may also apply.
NIMCET 2026 Exam Syllabus
NIMCET consists of only one paper with 120 questions divided into four divisions. The test will be divided into three sections: mathematics, logical ability, computers, and general English. Check out the NIMCET 2026 Syllabus section-wise, which is discussed below.
MATHEMATICS
- Set Theory: Concept of sets – Union, Intersection, Cardinality, Elementary counting; permutations and combinations.
- Probability and Statistics: Basic concepts of probability theory, Averages, Dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, measures of central tendencies and dispersions.
- Algebra: Fundamental operations in algebra, expansions, factorization, simultaneous linear
/quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants and matrices. - Coordinate Geometry: Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, distance formulae, equation
of a line, and intersection of lines, pair of straight lines, equations of a circle, parabola,
ellipse and hyperbola. - Calculus: Limit of functions, continuous function, differentiation of function, tangents and
normals, simple examples of maxima and minima. Integration of functions by parts, by
substitution and by partial fraction, definite integrals, applications of definite integrals to
areas. - Vectors: Position vector, addition and subtraction of vectors, scalar and vector products
and their applications to simple geometrical problems and mechanics. - Trigonometry: Simple identities, trigonometric equations, properties of triangles, solution of
triangles, heights and distances, general solutions of trigonometric equations.
ANALYTICAL ABILITY & LOGICAL REASONING
The questions in this section will cover logical situations and questions based on the facts
given in the passage.
COMPUTER AWARENESS
- Computer Basics: Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), structure of
instructions in CPU, input/output devices, computer memory, and back-up devices.
• Data Representation: Representation of characters, integers and fractions, binary and
hexadecimal representations, binary arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication,
division, simple arithmetic and two’s complement arithmetic, floating point representation
of numbers, Boolean algebra, truth tables, Venn diagrams
GENERAL ENGLISH
Questions in this section will be designed to test the candidate’s general understanding of the English language. There will be questions on the following topics:
Comprehension, vocabulary, Basic English Grammar (like usage of correct forms of verbs, prepositions, and articles), word power, synonyms and antonyms, meaning of words and phrases, technical writing
NIMCET 2026 Paper Pattern
The NIMCET-2026 test will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions on a single paper divided into three parts. The Computer-Based Test (CBT) consists of three portions that will be presented to the candidate sequentially. Part I lasts 70 minutes and consists of 50 questions in Mathematics. Part II of the exam lasts 30 minutes and includes 40 questions on analytical abilities and logical reasoning. Part III of the exam lasts 20 minutes and includes 20 questions on computer awareness and 10 on English. The distribution of given time, questions, and marks is as follows:
