The selection of a candidate for JNVST Class 9 admissions will be based on how well the candidate does on the entrance exam. On February 11, 2022, the admission examination will take place. Candidates taking the entrance test must graduate from Class 8 in the academic year 2022–2023 from an institution that is approved by the district to which they are applying. Students who successfully completed Class 8 in prior academic years are ineligible.

On Saturday, February 11, 2023, the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of the relevant district or any other center designated by NVS will host the admissions test for Class IX. The NVS Class 9 Admission Test will be administered offline using a pen and paper format, according to the data provided in the official brochure made available by the exam authority. It will take two hours and thirty minutes to complete the test. Candidates who are taking the exam will have the option of doing it in Hindi or English.

• The test will be of the objective variety and last for two and a half hours without a break.
•In order to be eligible, the candidate must meet the NVS’s basic requirements. across all 04 subjects. However, the merit list will be created using grades earned in three subjects: Mathematics, Science, and one of the other two languages where the applicant has performed better.
•The test paper’s difficulty level must belong to Class VIII.

•Only applicants who are legally residing in the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is located and seeking admission, and who are enrolled in Class VIII during the Academic Session 2022–2023 in one of the government- or government-recognized schools in that district, are eligible.
• The applicant must have completed or passed Class VIII in the academic year 2022–2023 from a government- or government-recognized school in the district where admission is sought. They are ineligible if they have already completed class VIII in a prior academic year.
• A applicant for admission must have been born between May 1, 2008, and April 30, 2010. (both days inclusive). All candidate groups, including those from the OBC (Central List), Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes, are affected by this.
• If there is any doubt about a candidate’s age based on the certificate they provided before admission was confirmed, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has the right to refer them to a MEDICAL BOARD for confirmation.
