Students are required to obtain at least 33% marks in Jharkhand Class 12th to pass the exam. To enable a student to pass, the Jharkhand Academic Council grants grace marks according to these guidelines:

• If a student falls short in a subject by no more than 5% of the overall marks, they can earn up to 5% in that subject.
• If a student falls short in two subjects by no more than 3% of the overall marks in each, they could earn up to 3% in both of those courses.
• if a student does not obtain five or more marks to achieve a higher division and has not utilized any of the grace marks mentioned in points one and two. Subsequently, the student is awarded the required grace points to progress to the next division.

What If I Fail in JAC 12th Board Exam 2025

The Jharkhand Board allows students to apply for marks revaluation if students are not satisfied of have failed. Even after the revaluation of marks, if a student fails to pass up to two subjects, they can take the JAC 12th supplementary exams, which are tentatively scheduled for July 2025. Not achieving the passing marks in over two subjects will require students to retake the complete exam in the next academic year.
