IIMC Entrance Exam is only offered for certain programmes of study. For most programmes of study offered at IIMC, the entrance exam is now CUET-PG. IIMC offers a range of MA and PG Diploma courses in the field of Mass Communication, and the entrance exams for these courses have essentially been replaced with CUET-PG, administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). IIMC still conducts the IIMC Entrance Exam, but only for the PG Diploma in Journalism in 4 regional languages.

IIMC Entrance Exam 2026 Application Process

IIMC applicants were able to complete their applications online. According to the official communication, only Indian Nationals are allowed to appear for the IIMC Entrance Exam, although there are 5 additional course seats available for NRI/ NRI-sponsored kids. Below is the application process for the IIMC Entrance Exam:

Step 1: Filling the IIMC (CUET PG) Registration Form
Candidates must register for the online application form and note down the applicant’s system-generated Application Number. The candidates must fill out the required information while filling out the Online Application Form. Candidates must also create a password, choose a Security Question, and enter their answer. After submitting the personal details successfully, the system generates an Application number for the candidates to complete the remaining Steps of the Application Form. The candidates will also use the Application Number for all future references/ correspondence (admit cards, results, etc.). The same Application Number and Admission Ticket applications will be used/ referred to for both Sessions of CUET (PG) also. For future logins, the candidates will log in directly with the system-generated Application Numbers and the Passwords they created.

Step 2: Complete the Application Form for IIMC

Candidates are required to log in with their system-generated Application Number and pre-created Password to complete the Application Form, including completing personal details, applying for the Paper, selecting Examination Cities, filling in details of Educational Qualifications, uploading images and documents (if any). Applicants must only fill out one form, indicating all of their course choices, making a combined/ cumulative application fee payment.

Step 3: Upload Required Documents

Candidates must upload the scanned images of their Photograph and Signature following the instructions below:

  1. The recent Photograph should be either a colour or black & white, with 80% of the face (without mask) visible, including ears showing against a white background.
  2. Scanned Photograph and Signature must be acceptable JPG/ JPEG format.
  3. The scanned Photograph size should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
  4. The scanned signature size should be between 4 kb to 30 kb.

Step 4: Payment of application fee

After completing the above steps, the candidates need to pay the examination fee. The fee is to be paid online through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI Services. The candidate will additionally be responsible for processing charges, and GST (if applicable) will also be charged by the Bank / Payment Gateway.

Admit Card for IIMC Entrance Exam 2026

The IIMC entrance exam admit card is available on the website of the institute as well as on that of the National Testing Agency. Only the students who have applied successfully will be able to access the admit card. Students must bring their IIMC entrance exam admit card to the examination centre.
